Labour Card Modification Services – Legal Employment Contract Changes

A labour contract amendment is the official change of an employment contract in the UAE, recorded in MOHRE’s system. It includes updates such as job title, occupation, salary, or employee personal details, and must comply with UAE labour laws and the company’s licensed activities. EGSH, as a MOHRE-authorised Tasheel centre, reviews the request and supporting documents to ensure full compliance before submitting the amendment for approval.

Only the authorised signatory of a company with a valid trade licence and no active violations can submit an employment contract update through MOHRE’s official channels. EGSH verifies the company’s eligibility, checks all supporting documents, and ensures the application meets MOHRE requirements before submission.

If all documents meet MOHRE requirements, a labour contract modification is processed and approved electronically within two working days. EGSH ensures all submissions are complete and compliant, reducing the risk of delays.

Any approved labour contract modification that changes details such as occupation, salary, or employee information must be reflected in the labour card records held by MOHRE. EGSH ensures that all related updates are accurately processed to maintain full compliance.

The federal fee for a labour contract modification is AED 50, and the business centre commission is capped at AED 72. Taxes and collection charges are not included in these amounts. EGSH advisors will provide a complete cost breakdown before applying.

When a profession change is requested, MOHRE requires academic certificates based on the employee’s skill level. For example, skill levels 1 and 2 require a bachelor’s degree or higher, levels 3 and 4 require a diploma or higher, and level 5 requires a high school certificate. No certificates are needed for skill levels 6 to 9. EGSH verifies the validity and compliance of all certificates before submission.

MOHRE does not process amendments to an expired work contract. In such cases, the agreement must be renewed first, and any required changes can then be submitted as a modification request. EGSH assists in coordinating both the renewal and subsequent amendments to ensure compliance with all MOHRE regulations.
