UAE Visit Visa

A Dubai visit visa is issued either for tourism or for family visits, while a Dubai tourist visa is strictly for tourism purposes with sponsorship from a licensed travel agency or tourism establishment. Both types of visas are regulated by GDRFA and can be issued as single-entry or multiple-entry permits.

Applicants must hold a passport valid for at least six months, provide a recent passport-sized photograph, present a confirmed return or onward ticket, and maintain valid medical insurance in the UAE. For applicants holding passports of Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, or Afghanistan, an identity card issued by the country of origin is also required.

Government fees vary depending on the type and duration of the visa. The official fee for a single-entry tourist visa is AED 200 for 30 days or AED 300 for 60 days. The fee for a multiple-entry tourist visa is AED 300 for 30 days or AED 500 for 60 days. A family visit visa may be issued for 30, 60, or 90 days at AED 200, AED 300, and AED 400, respectively, with a refundable security deposit of AED 1,000. All fees are subject to a 5% VAT, and an additional fee of AED 500 applies if the application is submitted inside the UAE. EGSH provides applicants with an apparent government fee breakdown in advance and ensures all payments are processed through authorised channels.

According to GDRFA, the standard processing time for a visiting visa in Dubai is 48 hours from submission, provided the application is complete and compliant. Applications submitted within the UAE may take longer due to additional checks. EGSH specialists ensure all documents are appropriately reviewed and submitted in full compliance with UAE regulations.

Short-term visit visas in the UAE, including 30-day and 60-day permits, can be extended without leaving the country. Each extension is usually granted for the same period as the original visa, subject to additional government fees. The request must be submitted before the visa expires to avoid fines for overstaying. Applicants can submit their visa extension directly through EGSH, where specialists ensure timely filing and full compliance with GDRFA requirements.

If a UAE visit visa expires and the holder remains in the country, overstay fines apply immediately. The penalty is AED 50 per day, starting from the first day after visa expiry. In addition, an administrative fee of AED 320 is charged when clearing the fines at departure or during visa renewal.
