How long is the Dubai Digital Nomad Visa valid?

Can I switch to an employment visa after holding the Digital Nomad Visa?

Yes. If you receive a valid job offer from a UAE employer, you may apply for a UAE employment visa. Still, the employer must obtain a MOHRE work permit and sponsor your residency. The Digital Nomad Visa does not convert automatically.

This is probably the best government service hub in Dubai. You come in, asked to be seated, and the staff will come to you instead of standing on the reception and on queue.
